Kawula Muda, cari tahu yuk versi bad girl dari Daya
Penyanyi asal Amerika Serikat, Daya, baru saja merilis single baru berjudul Bad Girl pada Kamis (04/02/2021). Single tersebut menjadi rilis pertamanya tahun ini, mengikuti lagu terakhirnya yang berjudul First Time yang dirlis Oktober 2020.
Perilisan Bad Girl disertai dengan video musik resmi karya sutradara Clyde Munroe, yang diunggah di kanal YouTube milik Daya.
Berbicara soal lagu barunya, artis berusia 22 tahun itu menyebut bahwa lirik Bad Girl tidak hanya sebatas menggambarkan ‘problem child’ atau ‘archetypal rebel’, istilah dalam dunia psikologi untuk menyebut orang yang memiliki standar moral atau perilaku sosial berbeda dengan orang lain pada umumnya.
Menurut dia, Bad Girl juga bisa ditujukan bagi para perempuan yang dengan percaya diri dan berani menunjukkan diri mereka sendiri kepada dunia, tanpa harus mengikuti stereotip penampilan gadis nakal.
“Bagiku, lirik Bad Girl bisa digunakan dengan cara yang hampir ironis untuk menggambarkan problem child atau archetypal rebel, sebaliknya Bad Girl juga bisa menjadi siapa saja yang percaya diri, tegas, dan berani menunjukkan siapa diri mereka di dunia ini dan tidak harus selalu mengikuti stereotip penampilan gadis nakal,” ucap artis pemenang penghargaan Grammy itu.
Bad Girl akan menjadi bagian dari EP terbaru Daya yang akan datang, sebagai lanjutan dari album debut solonya Sit Still, Look Pretty yang dirilis pada 2016. EP tersebut rencananaya akan dirilis tahun ini.
Sebelumnya, Daya telah merilis single berjudul First Time pada Oktober 2020. Single yang ditulis oleh Daya bersama sejumlah artis seperti JKash, Michael Pollack, Madison Love, dan Andrew Goldstein itu juga akan menjadi bagian dari album terbarunya.
