Evanescence telah merilis single terbaru mereka yang berjudul Better Without You pada Jumat (05/03/2021). Single ini merupakan bagian dari album studio kelima mereka, “The Bitter Truth”, yang dijadwalkan rilis pada 26 Maret 2021.
Better Without You mengikuti rilis sebelumnya, Yeah Right, yang keluar pada Desember 2020. Sebelumnya, band rock asal Arkansas, Amerika Serikat, ini telah merilis beberapa single sepanjang 2020 yaitu Wasted On You (April), The Game Is Over (Juli), dan Use My Voice (Agustus).
Lagu-lagu tersebut juga akan menjadi bagian dalam album terbaru mereka yang berisi total 11 lagu untuk edisi standar.
Selain lagu-lagu tersebut, band yang digawangi oleh Amy Lee itu juga telah merilis dua lagu cover, yakni Cruel Summer milik girl group Bananarama dan The Chain milik band Fleetwood Mac yang menjadi lagu tema untuk video game “Gears 5”.
Dua lagu tersebut akan dimasukkan sebagai lagu bonus untuk album “The Bitter Truth”, khusus untuk edisi Target Exclusive dan Japanese Edition.
Evanescence juga telah mengumumkan jadwal tur mereka ke Inggris dan Eropa untuk mendukung album “The Bitter Truth”. Tur tersebut rencananya akan dimulai pada September tahun ini.
